Closet Challenge - WK2

August 17, 2016

Here we go! Week 2 has come and gone. It's already been 10 days and I haven't even put a dent in my closet.

*Monday*
Some comfy army green leggings with a crochet fit and flare dress. And of course this is topped off with my cute Steve Madden wedges.

*Tuesday*
Foxy Tuesday! A cute shirt dress with a even cuter lace dress extender.

*Wednesday*
This was my lazy day. Simple dress with a colorful peacock design.
Here is a similar dress, just a different design.

*Thursday*
We had this important meeting scheduled today and you know when you have an audience you need to look good. This is done with white skinnys and a beige chiffon top.

*Friday*
To keep things casual for Friday, I wore a pair of black leggings with a black tank. Topped this off with a cover up.

Closet Challenge - WK1

August 08, 2016

I know I am not the only one who has clothes sitting in my closet that I have yet to wear. The clothes that I buy thinking I'll wear them soon... after I lose a pound or two. Of course that pound or two comes and goes and I still don't like how that piece of clothing looks on me. Still it's soooo cute I don't want to get rid of it. Yet. And there it sits, all lonesome in my closet just waiting for the day to be worn.

That is why I decided to do this closet challenge.
To go a whole month, work month - 5 days a week, that is, and wear all the clothes in my closet with no repeats!!! It's doable right. There are enough clothes to go through, we all know this.
At the end of that month, I vow to donate at least 5 pieces I did not get to wear.
Scary, but it has be to done.

Here we go...

Week 1 - August
*Monday*
This is my casual little Black Dress.

*Tuesday*
I was feeling kinda edgy today. I decided to whip out my Faux Leather Leggings and pair it with a cute black Chiffon Top.

*Wednesday*
I wore a cute striped halter dress. I honestly can't remember where this dress came from, but here is something similar.

*Thursday*
I had today off - so I was a little more casual in a pair of jean boyfriend shorts and a cute ruffled tank top.

*Friday*
Friday is casual day at work and we're allowed to wear jeans!! I may have an obsession with stripes, so here we are in skinny jeans and a striped halter.

Shoes are a whole other world. An unhealthy obsession, like purses. More to come on that later...

DIY

Wire Basket Shelf

August 02, 2016

I seem to be having a lot of extra time on my hands these days and you know what that means.... rearranging, new home decor, and lots of DIY projects. My poor husband can't seem to find anything in our house these days with all the changes I've been making - though that could be part of his 'man-syndrome'. I'll go with the latter :P

I decided I really like the industrial/vintage look. So slowly but surely the house is getting a makeover. Just a tiny one.
We all know wire baskets are huge these days and soooooo pricey. I found these baskets at the dollar store and decided I needed to have them. So first came the baskets then came the wood and soon after came this wire basket holder shelf. Whatever you want to call it. I've always had wood laying around the house so it was easy to piece this together. It's simple and super cute!!

Supply:
  • Wire baskets From the Dollar Store. Wood
  • If you have any laying around or you can run to Lowes/Home Depot and pick some up for a few dollars.
  • Screws and washers
  • Again I had these on hand. Lowes/Home Depot will have what you need too.
  • Paint/Wood Stain. You can get creative with this one and go with any color you want.
Put it all together and ta-da!!

This is now hanging proudly in my guest bathroom with the essentials.

Book Obsession

June 10, 2016

I am OBSESSED with books, just reading in general. Happy love stories. Sappy love stories. I don't care as long as there is love involved, I am in. So, I generally read 2-3 books a week and these aren't short stories. Where the heck do I find the time? Don't ask because I honestly couldn't tell you.

The stories I read take you away from reality, for just a little bit. You become part of the characters world and feel as if your there with them; at least with the good written stories you do. Sometimes it's just nice to have an escape...

Here are my top 5 favorite reads:
1. Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire
2. Accidentally on Purpose by L.D. Davis
3. Avoiding Commitment Series by K.A. Linde
4. Bad Things (Tristan & Danika Series) R.K. Lilley
5. Thoughtless Series by S.C. Stephens

Now, that is just top five. I could keep going with this list... to name a few: The Game Changer by J. Sterling, Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover and Taking Chances by Molly McAdam. If you like to read or even get bored and what something to do, go pick up a book. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Check out some of the books I've read on my GoodReads

We Do

June 05, 2016

When people say they are happily married - do you ever wonder if they are full of it?
Me? I am married. I am happy. Happily married?!? Ya, probably not.

Now don't think I don't love my husband, because I do with all my pieces.
But seriously, the messiness, the forgetting, and the not listening!!
Where would we be if every relationship was perfect? Bored out of our minds, that's where!

Our marriage is happily balanced (i like that better). Between the nagging (all me), the too lazy to put his clothes in the hamper or his dirty dish in the sink, and all the laughs or having the need to always be with each other... it works. Happily balanced. I love him to pieces and I wouldn't trade it for the world.
